High school wrestling in Louisiana includes four categories: Division I, Division II, Division III (boys) – each with about 40 schools – and Division I Girls, featuring more than 70 programs.
In 2025, three of the four team titles featured tight races, with Jesuit topping Brother Martin for the Division I championship (284.5-262), Teurlings Catholic easily taking the Division II title ahead of St. Thomas More (314-230.5) and Basile edging John Curtis Christian in Division III (222.5-201.0).
Last season was a historic campaign for the female wrestlers in the Bayou State, as it was the first time in history the LHSAA crowned state champions in girls wrestling. The inaugural team championship went to Baton Rouge (190.5), while Lafayette finished second (156).
The 2025 LHSAA Wrestling State Championships included 36 teams in Division I, 33 teams in Division II, 29 programs in Division III and 50 teams on the girls side.
