The National Wrestling Coaches Association introduced the Triple Crown for high school girls wrestling this year with contestants vying for the prize at the prestigious Ironman, Beast of the East and Powerade tournaments. The first year produced three Triple Crown winners and several others who placed at all three events. Here’s a look at four of the stars who shined at the Triple Crown tournaments.

Taina Fernandez

It’s hard to imagine anyone running through the three Triple Crown events in more dominating fashion than Fernandez, who notched 12 pins — 11 in the first period — in 13 bouts en route to the Triple Crown. The Archbishop Spalding (MD) star’s only match that didn’t end in a pin was a 15-0 technical fall in the Powerade finals.

Marlee Solomon

Solomon scored bonus points in each of her 15 Triple Crown matches, registering eight pins, six technical falls and a major decision. The third-ranked junior 115-pounder from Canon-McMillan (PA) High School scored falls in the Ironman and Powerade finals. She’s on an upward trajectory after placing fifth at the California state tournament in 2024 and placing fourth at the Ironman last year to winning a Pennsylvania state title last season and now capturing the Triple Crown.

Violette Lasure

Violette Lasure continues to be a consistent force in the 145-pound weight class. The top-ranked junior from Chestnut Ridge (PA) scored 10 pins, three majors and a 7-0 win in her 14 Triple Crown matches. She completed her Triple Crown run with a 24-second pin in the Powerade finals.

Camilla Hathaway

Hathaway has been surging up the national ladder in recent months and she continued to climb throughout the Triple Crown events. The Mount Lebanon (PA) freshman finished third at the Ironman, second at the Beast of the East and won the title at the Powerade. Her only losses came against top-ranked 155-pounder Ella Paolillo and #3 170-pounder Ciyanna Okocha.
