Get To Know Your 2025 NWCA High School Triple Crown Winners

So you want to win the NWCA’s Triple Crown of high school girls’ wrestling? You’ll have to be perfect at three prestigious national tournaments to do it.

Winning the Ironman, Beast of the East, and Powerade in consecutive December weekends is a tall order, and Marlee Solomon (Canon-McMillan-PA), Taina Fernandez (Archbishop Spalding-MD), and Violette Lasure (Chestnut Ridge-PA) were the first wrestlers to accomplish the feat.

Below are profiles on each wrestler and their match-by-match Triple Crown runs (with video links).

Marlee Solomon (Canon-McMillan), JR

Solomon turned heads when she won the 117-pound division at the 2025 Missouri Valley Open in November — a prestigious college open on November 21-22. She finished second at the 16U Nationals (aka Fargo) in 2024 (106) for California and in 2025 (115) for Pennsylvania, and finished fifth at the 2024 California state championships (100) before winning the 2025 Pennsylvania state tournament (112). The Canon-McMillan star reached the 2025 Super 32 finals at 112, falling to two-time U17 World champion Morgan Turner.

Taina Fernandez (Archbishop Spalding), JR

Fernandez has done it all.
— Two-time U17 World champion (2024-25).
— Four-time Super 32 champion (2022-25).
— Three-time Fargo champion (2024-25), including 16U and Junior titles in 2025.
— Three-time Who’s Number One winner (2023-25).
— Two-time National Preps champ (2024-25).

And that’s just high school.

She won college opens like the Midlands, Warrior Women's Open, and FSU Bobcat Open. Her only known losses against women’s competition since she’s been in high school were at the 2023 Princeton Open when she was 14 and lost 11-0 to 28-year-old Canadian Alex Town (a 2018 U23 World champion), and to 2024 Nigerian Olympian Esther Kolawole (William Penn), 5-3, at the 2025 Women’s Warrior Open.

And she recently finished the JFK 50-miler, winning the 19 & under division in 11 hours, 22 minutes, and 35 seconds.

Violette Lasure (Chestnut Ridge), JR

Lasure is a two-time Pennsylvania state champion, on track to win four. She finished ninth at the 2025 U17 World Championships and is a two-time age-level Pan-American Games champion (2023, 2025). The Chestnut Ridge star won the 2025 East Stroudsburg Open with an 11-0 finals win over Zoey Haney (Eastern), who is currently ranked fourth in the FloWrestling NCAA women’s college rankings. She has finished 1st-1st-2nd (2023-25) at Super 32, 3rd-1st-1st at Fargo (2023-25), and won by fall at FloWrestling’s 2025 Who’s Number One.
