Nike All-American Athlete Spotlight: Horger, White, DeBerry, Hattala Shine
The Beast of the East set the stage for several Nike All-America candidates to stand out in a big way in the national high school wrestling landscape.

The Girls Beast of the East delivered two days of standout performances and upsets, making it difficult to narrow down the list of worthy wrestlers for this week’s Nike All-American Athlete Spotlight. From clutch victories to milestone wins, the Beast had it all. Julia Horger notched her 100th career win and took down two top-five opponents, Willow White ran through the 130-pound bracket, unranked Abigail DeBerry pinned her way through the tournament at 135 and Caroline Hattala continued her upward trajectory by decking all four of her opponents at 190.
Horger Takes Down Two Top 5 Ranked Wrestlers
Julia Horger has been a mainstay inside the top five of the national rankings before recently dropping to #6 at 105 pounds. The senior from Conwell Egan High School in Pennsylvania could be on the rise again after her performance at the Beast, where she notched her 100th career victory with a 10-5 win against #4 Gabriella Conte in the 110-pound semis and then avenged a previous loss to #5 (at 105) Isla Silva with an 18-9 major decision.

White Rolls Through Beast
After a runner-up finish at the Ironman — where she dropped an 8-4 decision in the finals against #5 Carolline Hilton — Willow White put her explosive style on display at the Beast. The senior from South Dade (Florida) High School notched three technical falls and a pin on her way to the finals at 130, including a 19-4 tech in the quarters against Delaware state champ Isabella Thompkins. White finished her title run with a 9-4 win against Haley Smarsh in the finals.

DeBerry Decks Her Way Through Bracket
Unranked Abigail DeBerry made a statement at the Beast, pinning her way through the 135-pound bracket. In total, DeBerry, a senior from Stafford (Virginia) High School, scored five falls in 11 minutes, 50 seconds of mat time. Her fifth pin came in the first period of the finals against Naima Rodriguez.

Hattala Pins Her Way To Third Beast Title
Lehigh commit Caroline Hattala made quick work of her competition at 190 pounds. The fourth-ranked senior from Quakertown (Penn.) scored five pins in a combined 8:09 on her way to her third Beast of the East title.
