Nike All-American Spotlight: Peterson, Radecki, Gonzales, & Sharp Surge

A couple of weeks ago, we introduced the Nike Preseason All-American Team with the nation’s top performers across 15 weights. Now we’re taking a look at four standouts who cemented their standing or surged into Preseason All-America consideration with strong performances during the summer and fall.

Abigail Peterson — First Team, 95 pounds

Peterson was ranked 25th at one point this spring before rocketing up the charts, thanks in large part to her performance at the Super 32, where she took out a pair of Fargo champs on her way to the title as the #6 seed. She’s coming off a dominant outing at the Dan Gable Donnybrook, where she pinned all five of her opponents, including third-ranked Lily Breeden in the finals.

Natalie Radecki — Honorable Mention, 105 pounds

Radecki became Delaware’s first Fargo women’s freestyle champion this summer when she captured the 95-pound Junior title. She also claimed a gold at the U17 Pan-American Championships. Those performances helped vault her from 10th in the rankings last spring into the top five. She’s currently ranked fourth at 105 pounds.  Radecki has committed to Lehigh University and will join the Mountain Hawks next fall.

Sophia Marie Gonzales — Third Team, 110 pounds

Gonzales was just inside the top 20 at this time a year ago before gradually moving up the ranks and ultimately landing a spot on the Who’s Number One card. She jumped in the rankings after winning the title in April at the High School Recruiting Showcase, where she notched a 6-5 win in the finals against Aubree Gutierrez, avenging a 7-1 loss from the California state semifinals.

Marie Sharp — Honorable Mention, 120 pounds

Sharp has been chasing a breakthrough tournament win and got one in October at the Super 32, where she knocked off multi-time Who’s Number One participant Taina McGowan in the semifinals and went on to claim a title belt. That performance came on the heels of her showing this summer in Fargo, where she was a 16U runner-up after placing fifth in 2024.
