Is A #2 William Penn vs #1 Life Showdown Imminent?

It’s never too early to get excited about a #1 vs #2 showdown. Life and William Penn appear to be on a collision course, and they could meet at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa on January 9-10. They will definitely collide at the For Her Duals on February 8 in Coralville, Iowa — and at the NAIA Championships on March 13-14.

Here’s a preview of what the match-ups might look like. Take rankings with a grain of salt. Baez-Dilone is a two-time Junior College champion, a national college finalist for King University in 2024 and a multi-time World teamer for Spain. Jamilah McBryde is a returning national champion who hasn’t been ranked due to inactivity.

William Penn has two Nigerian Olympians in the line-up who defeated their Life University opponents in last year’s NAIA finals (117 and 145). And William Penn’s Piper Fowler is a U17 World champion.

Possible Matchups
103: #9 Lillian Zapata (WP) vs Alyssa Quezaire (L)
110: #3 Avy Perez (WP) vs #1 Ariana Martinez (L) or #2 Diana Gonzalez (L)
