Iowa took care of some heavy lifting on the recruiting front Sunday with a massive haul of highly-touted prospects.

Three of the top wrestlers in the Class of 2027 and two more in the 2028 class announced their commitments to the Hawkeyes.

The group includes:

— Fifth-ranked 138-pounder Joe Bachmann. One of the most decorated juniors in the country, Bachmann is a two-time U17 World medalist, a two-time Pennsylvania state champ, a Super 32 champ and an Ironman champion. He’s ranked third on the 2027 Big Board.

— Seventh-ranked 132-pounder Fred Bachmann. He’s a U17 World silver medalist who has won titles at the Super 32, Ironman and Pennsylvania state high school tournament. He’s one of the top prospects in the 2028 class.

— Second-ranked 126-pounder Paul Kenny. The U17 World champion is currently ranked the #8 prospect on the 2027 Big Board. He’s a two-time Who’s Number One participant and a New Jersey state champion.

— Seventh-ranked 113-pounder Sean Kenny. The 2028 prospect is a Fargo 16U champ and a two-time Super 32 finalist. He placed third last season at the New Jersey state tournament as a freshman.

— Sixth-ranked 132-pounder Israel Borge. The #11 prospect on the 2027 Big Board is coming off a runner-up finish at the Super 32. He’s an NHSCA national champ.

With Joe Bachman, Paul Kenny and Borge in the fold, the Hawkeyes have now landed commitments from five of the top 30 wrestlers in the 2027 class. Iowa also collected commitments from #29 Dawson Youngblut and #30 Sonny Amato.
