Results From Real American Freestyle 02

New professional wrestling promotion, Real American Freestyle, has its second event on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania. We'll be tracking all of the results from this event live in the article below. 

The matches will be streamed on Fox Nation. The bout order is below. 

  • 135 lbs: Austin DeSanto vs Nico Megaludis
  • 165 lbs: James Green vs Tajmuraz Salkazanov
  • Unlimited: Mason Parris vs Alexandr Romanov
  • Open: Keelon Jimison vs Cayden Henschel
  • 190 lbs: Carter Starocci vs Nate Jackson
  • Unlimited: Pat Downey vs Jake Varner
  • 165 lbs: David Carr vs Amr Reda
  • 135 lbs: Nathan Tomasello vs Matt Ramos
  • 120 lbs: Helen Maroulis vs Samantha Stewart
  • 190 lbs: Kyle Dake vs Boris Makoev

Match 1 - 135 lbs: Austin DeSanto vs Nico Megaludis

Not much action in the first period but a furious handfight from both DeSanto and Megaludis. DeSanto secures a point off of the shot clock and leads after the first two minutes. Megaludis gets in deep on a single leg in the second period, but can't finish. DeSanto responds with a single leg of his own and then scores again on an exposure from Megaludis' shot. DeSanto leads 5-0 at the end of the second period. 

DeSanto gets another point off of a lost challenge and then scores another takedown to take an 8-0 lead early in the third period. DeSanto scores on a reattack and closes out the match with a 10-0 tech.

Final: Austin DeSanto over Nico Megaludis, 10-0

Match 2 - 165 lbs: James Green vs Tajmuraz Salkazanov

James Green starts the match with a double and uses it for a step-out to take a 1-0 lead just 20 seconds into the match. Green adds another point off the shot clock and leads 2-0 after the first period. Green keeps his offense rolling in the second period with a nice misdirection single and finishes to extend his lead to 4-0. Green takes that lead into the third period.

Salkazanov finds his offense with a snap go-behind thirty seconds into the third period to cut the lead in half. Big Salk gets back to his offense and finishes quickly with a single-leg to lead on criteria, 4-4. Green comes forward with attacks but Salk's defense is too strong, and he wins on criteria. 

Final: Tajmuraz Salkazanov over James Green, 4-4

Match 3 - Unlimited: Mason Parris vs Alexandr Romanov

Romanov with a definite size advantage - the broadcast announced his weight at 277 pounds. Romanov was put on the clock early, but Parris scored a takedown off a snap to a single leg and quick finish. Parris takes a 3-0 lead into the second period. Parris starts the second period with a big double leg to extend his lead to 5-0. Parris hits another snap go-behind on the edge of the mat for his third takedown of the night and follows it up with a single leg to build a 9-0 lead. Parris ends the match with a final techdown for an easy 11-0 tech.

Final: Mason Parris over Alexandr Romanov, 11-0

Match 4 - Open: Keelon Jimison vs Cayden Henschel

Time for the influencer match! Jimison goes for a lat drop but fails, and Henschel scores a takedown and gut to lead early, 4-0. Jimison secures a step-out, and it's 4-1 at the end of the first period. Henschel starts the second period with a step-out. Henschel hits an easy snap go-behind to build his lead to 7-1 with just under thirty seconds to go in the second period. Henschel ends this one with a big feet to back double leg to close it out with a tech.

Final: Cayden Henschel over Keelon Jimison, 11-1

Match 5 - 190 lbs: Carter Starocci vs Nate Jackson

Nate Jackson starts the match with a huge double for four points just 30 seconds into the match. Jackson is playing to the crowd and uses that energy to secure a step-out. Starocci gets to a couple of single legs but can't finish, and Jackson leads 5-0 at the end of the first period. Both wrestlers get to their opponents' legs in the second period, but neither can finis,h and it's still 5-0 at the end of the second period.

Starocci is coming forward furiously but can't break through Jackson's defense. Starocci finally gets a stepout to close the score to 5-1. Starocci secures another stepout to make it 5-2 with less than a minute left. Starocci attempts a head pinch, but Jackson counters with a final takedown and locks up the upset win.

Final: Nate Jackson over Carter Starocci, 7-2

Match 6 - Unlimited: Pat Downey vs Jake Varner

Not a ton of action to start this one, and Varner gets the first point off the shot clock. That's it for the first period - Varner leads 1-0. Still not much going on in the second period, but Varner is controlling the handfight and moving Downey all over the mat. Despite that, Varner is put on the clock and scores a point to tie up the match at one. Varner hits a slick ankle pick for four points and leads 5-1 at the end of the second period. Downey can't get any offense going in the final period, and Varner wins 5-1.

Final: Jake Varner over Pat Downey, 5-1

Match 7 - 165 lbs: David Carr vs Amr Reda

David Carr gets off to a quick start with a step out in just 15 seconds. Carr gets back to his double leg and transitions right into two leg laces to lead 7-0 with 51 seconds left in the first period. Carr darts in on a single leg and finishes it for four points to make it 11-0, but Reda stays on a head pinch, and he's going to challenge. Reda wins the challenge, and somehow it's 11-4 now - I don't understand how both wrestlers received 4 points.

11-4 into the final period, and David Carr stays on the attack, but Reda counters with another exposure to make it 11-6. Carr gets Reda to the edge and shoots him out of bounds for a step-out. Carr continues to control the handfight and gets a step-out plus a caution point to make it 14-6.  Carr moves forward and has Reda on the edge, he secures a big double leg for four points - that should do it this time, Carr wins 18-6 and is the new Welterweight RAF Champion.

Final: David Carr over Amr Reda, 18-6

Match 8 - 135 lbs: Nathan Tomasello vs Matt Ramos

This is a rematch from RAF 01 where Tomasello won a close match. NATO gets on the board first after a shot clock point. The score remains 1-0 after the first period. Not much action in the second period, and Matt Ramos gets on the board with a shot-clock point to lead on criteria 1-1 at the end of the period. NATO gets in on a high crotch about thirty seconds into the period but Ramos counters with a crotch lift and leads 3-1. Witch just 30 seconds left, NATO gets back to his lefty high crotch and finishes this time for the takedown to lead on criteria. Ramos comes forward at the end looking for a score but plants himself on his back, and Tomasello wins this one to defend his Bantamweight title.

Final: Nathan Tomasello over Matt Ramos, 5-3

There was a brief intermission for a special announcement from Chad Bronstein and Izzy Martinez. They announced that RAF 03 will be in Chicago on November 29. They then called Holly Holm out, and she announced she'll be wrestling on the RAF 03 card.

Match 9 - 120 lbs: Helen Maroulis vs Samantha Stewart

Maroulis controls the first period and gets Stewart put on the shot clock. Stewart doesn't score, so Maroulis earns the first point. Maroulis fires off a clean single and finishes without much trouble. Maroulis leads 3-0 after the first period. Maroulis is back to controlling the handfight in the second period and earns a stepout point to go up 4-0. Maroulis continues to control the ties and center of the mat but can't generate any offense - Maroulis leads 4-0 at the end of two periods.

Maroulis is still having trouble opening up Stewart, but Stewart hasn't come close to scoring. With under a minute to go, Maroulis gets in cleanly on a double and finishes for two. That'll do it - Maroulis wins 6-0.

Final: Helen Maroulis over Samantha Stewart, 6-0

Match 10 - 190 lbs: Kyle Dake vs Boris Makoev

Time for the main event! Dake will look to defend his Cruiserweight title against two-time world medalist Boris Makoev. Dake scores first with a step-out just thirty seconds into the match. Dake adds another point after Makoev gets put on the shot-clock, and it's 2-0 after the first period. Not much action in the second period, and Makoev is put back on the clock. He doesn't score, so Dake earns a point and then adds another point for a step-out right before the end of the period - Dake leads 4-0 heading into the third period.

Dake comes out firing in the third period, but Makoev keeps Dake off his legs. Dake remains relentless and finally gets his hands locked on a single leg, but errantly steps out trying to finish - Makoev gets his first point. Dake gets back to a single leg and drives Makoev out of bounds to build his lead to 5-1. Makoev finally attacks, but Dake counters and gets 2 exposure points. Dake wins this one 7-1 and retains his championship belt.

Final: Kyle Dake over Boris Makeov, 7-1
