Penn State locked down one of the nation’s most-coveted lightweights, landing a commitment from standout in-state junior Landon Sidun.
Sidun, the second-ranked prospect on the 2027 Big Board and the #1 120-pounder in the country, announced his pledge to the Nittany Lions Monday on Instagram.
“I am extremely excited to announce that I’ve committed to Penn State to further my wrestling and academic career!” he wrote. “I believe Penn State will be the best fit for me, and I can succeed in many aspects.”
Sidun compiled a 72-2 record during his first two seasons at Norwin High School, where he won a state title as a freshman and went 30-0 as a sophomore before a broken hand prevented him from wrestling in the postseason.
Sidun is set to put his #1 national ranking on the line Saturday at Who’s Number One in Coralville, Iowa, where he’ll take on the winner of the event’s first 120-pound match featuring Rocklin Zinkin and Domenic Munaretto.
