All-American Stevo Poulin Transfers To Iowa State

2025 All-American Stevo Poulin announced his transfer to Iowa State on Friday via his social media. Poulin has spent the past three years at the University of Northern Colorado and has one year of eligibility remaining. Poulin's transfer notably comes on the heels of former Northern Colorado head coach Troy Nickerson's move to coach Army.

Poulin reached the podium for the first time in his career at the 2025 NCAA Tournament, where he ultimately finished in 8th place as the 10th-seeded wrestler in his bracket. At NCAAs, Poulin recorded wins over Dean Peterson, Jacob Moran, Charlie Farmer, and Tanner Jordan to earn his All-American honors. On top of his performance at NCAAs, Poulin accumulated a 24-6 record last season and peaked in the national rankings at #6.

Stevo's Fit In The Cyclone's Lineup

Poulin will slot in perfectly for the Cyclones next year at 125 pounds. Last season, Kysen Terukina, Iowa's starter, failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament after going 0-2 at Big 12's. Then, in the off-season, Terukina entered the transfer portal and shortly after committed to North Carolina. Christian Castillo, the #11 overall recruit in the class of 2025, is an incoming freshman next year for the Cyclones. However, Poulin's entrance in the lineup will likely allow Castillo to gain a year of experience in redshirt before starting for Iowa State in 2026-27.

Iowa State's Potential 2025-26 Lineup:
