Fix received the #2 seed, as did Hamiti at 79 and Hendrickson at 125, while Plott received the #5 seed at 92.

Freestyle is Carter Young's strongest style so no surprise that he earned the #7 seed. Ditto for Thompson, who received the same seed at 86kg.

Jax got the #6 seed, pretty insane for a high school junior. He could see Fix in the semifinals. 

Cowboy RTC Entries

65: Joey McKenna

One of David Taylor's priorities since getting to Stillwater has been to bolster the Cowboy RTC, and we see the fruits of those efforts in these entries. McKenna, formerly of the Pennsylvania-RTC, has the one seed at 65kg. Zahid Valencia, who came over from the Sunkist Kids in Tempe, has the second seed at 86kg (a finals between him and Kyle Dake potentially looming). Gas Tank Gary Traub was previously at Oregon State before making his way to Oklahoma State and the #4 seed at 97kg. 

Get ready for the fireworks that are scheduled to start at 1:00 PM Eastern Time on Friday. Then lock in until the finals, which are scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 PM Eastern.

The U20 tournament is your best chance to see future Cowboy stars. Win the U20 US Open and you get a bye to the finals of the U20 World Team Trials, which will be held at the end of May. 

Tune in Saturday morning to see the start of the tournament and then check back Sunday afternoon as there is a good chance we'll see more than one of these guys in the finals. Lockett, Robideau and Vega were all in the top 10 of the Class of 2025 Big Board, whereas Cody Merrill and JJ McComas were blue-chippers from the class of 2024. 

Ross is the only member of the Cowboy squad from the Class of 2026 (where he is #4 on the Big Board) entered in the U20 men's freestyle open. Future teammate Jax Forrest is #2 on the Big Board but he's entered in the senior tournament. 

U17 Freestyle Entries

55: Rocklin Zinkin

Rocklin is, like Jax Forrest, still in high school and won't be taking classes at Oklahoma State for at least another year. Cowboy fans can follow his tournament Saturday and Sunday, as the U17 World Team Trials runs concurrently with the U20 Open.
