Strickenberger Shocks Spratley
West Virginia got off to an incredible start with #13 Jett Strickenberger securing a first-period fall over #4 Troy Spratley. Stickenberger started the match with a quick takedown but Sprately responded with a reversal to cut the lead to 3-2. The key moment in the match came at the end of the first when Spratley was attempting to tilt Strickenberger but Strickenberger floated his hips over and secured the pin with just 6 seconds left in the first.

Strickenberger has now won four straight matches against ranked opponents after dropping to 125 pounds after spending most of November and December at 133. Strickenberger will make a big jump in the rankings and has quickly inserted himself as an All-American contender at 125.
Spratley has only lost 3 matches on the year and still holds victories over #5 Eddie Ventresca, #6 Caleb Smith, #9 Maximo Renteria, and #11 Brendan McCrone. While the upset was significant, Spratley won't fall far in the rankings and is still one of the top 125-pounders in the country.
Cowboys Upper Weights Too Strong
Despite the upset win at 125, the back half of Oklahoma State's lineup was too much for the Mountaineers to handle. Though #3 Peyton Hall defeated #6 Cam Amine, the Cowboys closed out the dual with four straight wins. Of those wins, Dean Hamiti and Dustin Plott secured techs while Wyatt Hendrickson finished the dual on a high note with a pin. Luke Surber also came up clutch at 197 pounds and scored a third-period takedown and rideout to hold on for a one-point victory over Ian Bush.
Oklahoma State moved to 9-0 with the victory over West Virginia and will face their biggest test of the season so far this Friday against #5 Northern Iowa. The Panthers are also 9-0 and have significant wins this year over #6 Nebraska, #11 South Dakota State, #19 Missouri, and #20 Arizona State. The Northern Iowa - Oklahoma State dual will take place at 8:00 pm (ET) on Friday and can be viewed live on FloWrestling.
