Wyoming Seminary vs Blair Academy Preview
The home town Blair Academy squad enters Friday night's dual as strong favorites at 113 lbs, 126 lbs, 175 lbs, and 190 lbs. #7 Mikey Bautista, #2 Will Henckel, and #13 Peter Snyder all take on unranked Wyoming Seminary opponents, and at 120 lbs, #1 Leo DeLuca will be favored against either #11 Shamus Regan or Nikos Filipos.

Wyoming Seminary is also favored at a number of weights. #7 Matthew Botello (132 lbs), #16 Anthony Evanitsky (150 lbs), #7 Vince Bouzakis (157 lbs), and #1 Jude Correa (215 lbs) all face unranked opponents and will be expected to earn victories for the Blue Knights.

It will be fascinating to see where Wyoming Seminary coach Cornell Robinson uses #11 Shamus Regan. He's been competing at 120 lbs and has earned top six finishes at both Ironman and Powerade at that weight, but he also notched a victory over Blair 126-pounder Vincenzo Anello in the Ironman semifinals a year ago. Anello led late in that bout, but Regan earned a takedown in the closing seconds to secure the victory. Coach Robinson might try to recapture that magic against Anello at 126 lbs, but his other probable starter, Nikos Filipos, is a Super 32 placer and tough in his own right, so the decision of where to use each wrestler isn't simple.
At 106 lbs, Wyoming Seminary's #14 Wyatt Stauffer will be favored based on his ranking but will have his hands full against Blair's Eddie George. These two met this spring at the Northeast Regional where Geoge won by tech. That match came down to one takedown and a series of leg laces. While that method of victory isn't replicable in folkstyle, George will certainly be looking to replicate the outcome.
It's likely that some of the matches that don't include ranked wrestlers will be some of the most significant for the outcome of this dual. Expect both coaches to engage in a starting lineup chess match in order to get to eight or more match victories and secure the team win. Friday night's showdown is definitely in the balance.
