Nicholas Sahakian is the top-ranked 285-pounder in the class of 2025. Last July, the California state champ committed to Arizona State, but yesterday he flipped his commitment to Michigan. Sahakian made his announcement via a post on Instagram.

Sahakian has been one of the top heavyweights in the country for years, and his most recent performance may have been his best. In April, the former U17 Greco World Teamer made a run to the U20 US Open finals with a 10-9 victory over U20 World bronze medalist Aden Attao in the semifinals. He was also a Super 32 champion in 2023.

Michigan's 2025 recruiting class now has four wrestlers ranked in the top 40: #11 Jude Correa (220 lbs), #20 Nicholas Sahakian (285 lbs) #26 Cooper Hilton (150 lbs), and #36 Gauge Botero (120 lbs).

The addition of Sahakian adds to an already incredible training situation in Ann Arbor. The Cliff Keen Wrestling Club currently rosters Mason Parris and Adam Coon, Team USA's Olympic heavyweights in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman respectively. Parris was a 2023 NCAA champion, Hodge Trophy winner, and World bronze medalist. Coon was a two-time NCAA finalist and 2018 World silver medalist.
