Audrey Jimenez reached the 50-kg Olympic Trials finals weeks after winning the Arizona boys' state championships.
Audrey Jimenez has had quite a year. The 18-year-old prep star won the Arizona boys' state wrestling championships on February 17 before boarding a plane for the Pan-American Championships where she won a bronze medal.
Now, she is in the best-of-three finals of the 2024 Olympic Trials where she will face 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Sarah Hildebrandt for the 50-kilogram women's freestyle spot.
Jimenez picked up 10-0 techs over Nyla Valencia and Erin Golston before securing a 10-6 win over Sage Mortimer in the challenge tournament finals. Mortimer scored the first four points before Jimenez reeled off 10 straight.
