Jax Forrest, the #6 pound-for-pound high schooler, showed why he is one of the most sought after recruits in the country when he tech-falled NCAA champ and four-time NCAA All-American Nathan Tomasello 10-0 in the finals of the Last Chance Olympic Team Trials Qualifier.

Forrest, still a sophomore at Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, needed just one minute and 18 seconds to blank former Ohio State Buckeye in the tournament finals. Forrest has now qualified for the 2024 Olympic Team Trials to be held in State College, PA April 19-20.

All of Forrest's four wins today saw him put double digits up on the scoreboard.

In his first match of the tournament. Forrest dispatched Penn State's Gary Steen 12-2. The next bout in the quarterfinals was a 10-0 rout of four-time qualifier and one-time All-American Devan Turner. Then, in the semis, Forrest defeated three-time NCAA qualifier and current NLWC team member Josh Rodriguez 13-4.

There was a sizable contingent of high schoolers at the Last Chance Qualifier. Forrest had the best finish and was the only teenager to qualify for the Olympic Trials but several other wrestlers who have yet to graduate high school, including Bo Basset, Aden Valencia, and Cole Mirasola, all finished in the top four today in Fairfax, Virginia.
