#21 Brody Teske Upsets #10 Nic Bouzakis In Big Ten's Round 1

Iowa's Brody Teske overcame his first challenge at the Big Ten Wrestling Championships after receiving the #14 seed in the 133lb bracket. The #21 ranked Teske defeated #10 Nic Bouzakis in the round of 16 at 133-pounds in a come-from-behind victory thanks to some clutch near fall late in the third period.

As a late addition to the Hawkeye starting lineup, Big Ten regulations mandated that he received the #14 seed, which set him up with a first-round match with the #3 seed, Nic Bouzakis of Ohio State

That news did phase the senior Hawkeye. Said Teske last Tuesday about the brackets:

Let it all play out the way God intended. He’s already got it mapped out. So, go live it.

Teske's next opponent in the quarterfinals will be Purdue's unranked Dustin Norris. A win there and Teske will automatically qualify for the NCAAs.
