The Oregon State wrestling team is seeking its 25th Pac-12 championship in what could be the last year of the conference as currently constructed. The Beavers, the west coast wrestling power, enters the year ranked No. 21, tied with Lock Haven, in the FloWrestling preseason rankings. 

The Beavers won their 24th conference tournament in 2023, snapping a run of Arizona State dominance in the conference. 

Oregon State returns several wrestlers ranked the FloWrestling rankings, including All-American Trey Munoz, the No. 3-ranked wrestler at 184 pounds. Munoz is a three-time NCAA qualifier and returning two-tim PAC-12 champion. Munoz is the son of 2001 NCAA Champion at Oklahoma State, Mark Munoz. 

Team also returns Brandon Kaylor (No. 14 at 125-pounds), Matthew Olguin (No. 10, 165-pounds), Travis Wittlake (No. 9, 174-pounds) and Boone McDermott (No.19, 285-pounds). 

With the Pac-12 influx after a mass exodus of full-fledge programs starting next summer, Oregon State could be aiming to win the league for the last time. Their first Pac-12 dual meet is against CSU Bakersfield on the road. 

Oregon State will also be tested outside the conference when No. 1 Penn State travels to Corvallis on Jan. 5.

When Is The 2024 PAC 12 Wrestling Tournament?

In what could possibly be the final time this event is held, the Pac-12 Championships are March 10 in Corvallis, Oregon on the campus of Oregon State inside Gill Coliseum. 

In 2023 Oregon State won its 24th Pac-12 Wrestling Championship. The win snapped a three straight championship run by Arizona State. In total, the Sun Devils have won five Pac-12 titles since 2017. 

With college conference realignment disrupting the NCAA, Arizona State (Big 12) and Stanford (ACC) are leaving the Pac-12 in 2024. The Pac-12 is also losing non-wrestling members California (ACC), UCLA (Big Ten), USC (Big Ten), Oregon (Big Ten), Washington (Big Ten), Utah (Big 12), Arizona (Big 12) and Colorado (Big 12). 

Only Washington State and Oregon State currently remain committed to the Pac-12 beyond this season. The Pac-12 has not added any teams as of Oct. 2023.

The Pac-12 for wrestling doesn’t have 12 teams. It has six. Here are the teams:

When is the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Tournament?

The NCAA Wrestling Championships are March 21- 23 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.
