Richmond freshman quarterback Camden Coleman was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week, while UAlbany senior linebacker Dylan Kelly was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week. Rhode Island junior kick returner Randy Jordan was chosen as the Special Teams Player of the Week and Rhode Island freshman cornerback Syeed Gibbs was named the Rookie of the Week.

CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week

Camden Coleman, Fr., QB, Richmond (Clemmons, N.C./Robert B. Glenn)

Making his first career start, Coleman completed 25-of-36 passes for a career-high 365 yards and a program record-tying six touchdowns to lead Richmond past Maine, 42-31. The freshman threw for 313 yards in the first half, including 5 TD passes on five consecutive possessions to give UR a 35-24 lead. The six TD’s tied Kyle Lauletta’s school record and are tied for the most by any FCS player this season.

CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week

Dylan Kelly, Sr., LB, UAlbany (Amhurst, N.Y./Williamsville North)

Kelly recorded the most tackles by an FCS player this season, making 23 stops in UAlbany’s 24-17 win at Towson. The senior added a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a PBU. He was part of a UA defense that held the Tigers to 319 yards and forced two turnovers. Kelly’s final tackle was his biggest, helping stop TU’s Devin Matthews for a 2-yard loss on 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard line with 55 seconds left.

CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Randy Jordan, Jr., KR/DB, Rhode Island (Tulare, Calif./Tulare Regional)

Jordan returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown in Rhode Island’s 34-30 triumph over Brown to capture the Governor’s Cup. The return put the Rams on top, 20-17, in the second quarter and proved to be the difference in the 4-point win. It was the first kickoff return for a TD by a URI player since 2019.

CAA Football Rookie of the Week

Syeed Gibbs, Fr., CB, Rhode Island (Everett, Mass./Everett)

Gibbs recorded a career-high nine tackles, 2.0 TFL’s, two interceptions and two pass breakups in Rhode Island’s 34-30 win over Brown. The freshman’s second interception came with six seconds to go at the URI 27-yard line, ending the Bears’ comeback attempt. The two TFL’s were his first of the season and the nine stops were three more than his previous best. The interceptions were Brown’s first of the season.
