Delbarton's Alessio Perentin is currently the #19 ranked recruit in the class of 2025, and now he's made his college decision. The 2023 New Jersey state champ will be headed to Ithaca to join the Cornell Wrestling program.

In addition to his New Jersey state title, Perentin is also a 2022 Fargo and Powerade finalist and a Beast of the East champion. He is only the fourth top-twenty recruit in his class to commit.

Perentin isn't the first prominent Delbarton wrestler to commit to Cornell. His teammate and 2024 prospect Louie Cerchio also plans to join the Big Red, but the Delbarton to Cornell connection runs deeper than that as Cornell head coach Mike Grey was a 4x state champ for Delbarton.

This commitment from Perentin is Coach Grey's first big move in the early stages of the 2025 recruiting season. His 2024 class currently includes top 100 recruits #22 Louie Cerchio (174 lbs), #33 Cash Henderson (197/285 lbs), and #52 Jaxon Joy (149 lbs).

Cornell fans can watch Perentin compete at Super 32 October 21-22 LIVE on FloWrestling. He's registered at 165 lbs.
