Sage Mortimer, one of the top college wrestlers in the country, has entered the transfer portal following two successful seasons at King University. Mortimer placed third at the 2022 National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships at 109 pounds and reached the finals earlier this year. 

The Springville, Utah, native had a successful high school career that included four Fargo titles and six All-American honors. She recently competed at the 2023 U23 World Team Trials where she was controversially disqualified during her best-of-three finals against Emily Shilson. 

King University placed second at nationals each of the two years that Mortimer was in the line-up. 

"I really enjoyed my time at King and I will forever cherish the friendships I’ve created with my teammates," Mortimer said. "With the King community, I managed to make memories that will last a lifetime and have mat experience that I’ll get to carry with me on my journey to achieving my goals.

"I feel that entering the transfer portal is the right move for me personally to get to that next level. I am continuously striving for growth in myself as well as my career. I thank everyone who supported me in this decision and who will continue to support me along the way."
