15 Round Of 32 Fargo Matches You Won't Want To Miss

The first day of men's freestyle competition in Fargo brought plenty of surprises and outstanding matches. You can catch up on some of the best action at this link. Day 2 kicks off on Tuesday, July 18 at 10:00 am est, and the round of 32 is packed with must-watch matches. Check out 15 of the bouts we're most excited about right here. Full brackets are available on FloArena.

120 lbs - #4 Beric Jordan vs #6 Gauge Botero - Even though 120 lbs is the deepest weight of the division, it’s still wild to see a #4 vs #6 matchup in the round of 32, but that’s the way it is. Botero and Jordan met at NHSCA National Duals where Jordan earned the narrow victory. Now they’ll meet again in freestyle.

120 lbs - #9 Seth Mendoza vs Antonio Mills - Former Fargo champ Mendoza will see NHSCA champ Mills in a battle of two young guys to the division who are still getting used to 120 lbs. Circle this one.

120 lbs - #8 Louie Gill vs #12 JJ Peace - South Carolina’s JJ Peace is moving up from 113 lbs where he’s ranked #12. He’ll get a solid test at the weight against NC State commit #8 Louie Gill.

120 lbs - #20 Blake Beissel vs #15 Ethan Rivera - Two more ranked wrestlers will clash in the round of 32 when Minnesota’s Beissel and Florida’s Rivera clash for the first time (at least in recent memory).

126 lbs - Layne Kleimann vs JJ McComas-Rogers - Team Idaho has put on impressive performances at Fargo in recent years, and Kleimann is part of the reason why. He was 7th here a year ago. He’ll have a tough challenge in Stillwater, Oklahoma’s JJ McComas-Rogers. At his best, Rogers is super tough to beat.

126 lbs - Jake Hockaday vs Eren Sement - After upsetting #11 Elijah Cortez on day 1, Jake Hockaday will look to keep the ball rolling against recent Penn commit Eren Sement. This Indiana vs Pennsylvania battle should be physical and a lot of fun.

132 lbs - #15 Matty Lopes vs #9 Zan Fugitt - Missouri prep Zan Fugitt is headed to Wisconsin, but not before looking to pick up a stop sign in his final high school tournament. He’ll have to get past #15 Matty Lopes in the round of 32. These two have been on the national scene for a long time but haven’t competed in significant competition.

138 lbs - #10 Daniel Zepeda vs #19 Hunter Hollingsworth - Zepeda and Hollingsworth both came up short of the Fargo podium last summer but have worked their way into the top 20 this season. Now they’ll square off still relatively early in this tournament. One will take another step toward the podium, and the other will have to battle through the back side.

152 lbs - #15 Ethan Parco vs #9 Collin Gaj - Parco is as slick as they come while Gaj is hard nosed and savvy in scrambles. This style clash might make Gaj vs Parco the most exciting match of the round of 32.

160 lbs - #2 William Henckel vs Colton Bornholdt - One of the most sought after recruits in the high school class of 2025, William Henckel of Blair, will have a Minnesota state champ in the round of 32.

170 lbs - #15 Gage Wright vs #17 Jasiah Queen - Wright, a future Hokie from talent-rich Parkersburg South in West Virginia, will face a Drexel commit from New Jersey in Jasiah Queen, a senior who is ranked at 160lbs but is wrestling up for Fargo.

170 lbs - #18 Adam Waters vs Anthony Rinehart - Pennsylvania freshman phenom Adam Waters will be challenged in the round of 32 by Anthony Rinehart from Indiana’s powerhouse high school Crown Point.

182 lbs - #14 Wtatt Ingam vs #15 Orlando CruzTwo top 20 wrestlers meeting in the round of 32? Yep, Fargo is that kind of tournament.

182 lbs - #17 Hoke Poe vs Diego Costa - Georgia state champ and rising senior Hoke Poe is looking to bolster his bona fides now that he’s committed to wrestle at West Virginia. He’ll have single-class California state bloodrounder Diego Costa as his next test.

195 lbs - #20 Kingsley Menifee vs Kasey GishThe NCAA newest D1 program Morgan State has a recruit with his sites set on a Fargo All-American medal in Virginia’s Kingsley Menifee. He’ll have to get past Wisconsin state placer Kasey Gish, who is in Fargo with many club teammates from AWA.
