The #1 overall recruit in the class of 2024 is no longer up for grabs. Angelo Ferrari is headed to the University of Iowa. The Melissa, Texas native announced his decision live on FloWrestling. Ferrari chose Iowa over Virginia Tech and Rutgers.

Angelo will join his brother Anthony in Iowa City. Anthony, a 2022 graduate, committed to Iowa back in March.

Angelo projects as a 184 pounder for the Hawkeyes and wants to wrestle right out of the gate as a true freshman in the 2024-25 season.

"It's like Alabama football. It's part of the culture," said Ferrari. "I can't wait to get there, win some national titles, and dominate Penn State."

A dynamic wrestler offensively and stingy defensively, Ferrari is a 2X Ironman champion and Who's Number One champion. At Who's Number One 2022, he defeated Illinois commit Braeden Scoles as well as Penn State commit and U17 World champion Joe Sealey.
