15 Ranked Wrestlers Set To Throw Down In AWA vs Pinnacle Dual
Some of the top wrestlers from the Askren Wrestling Academy and Pinnacle Wrestling School will battle in an all-star dual on Friday.
Askren Wrestling Academy and Pinnacle Wrestling School have established themselves as two of the premier wrestling clubs in the nation. This weekend, they'll meet in a dual showcasing some of the top wrestlers from each club. The 20 freestyle matches on the card feature 14 wrestlers ranked in the top 20 in their weight class and 6 different matches between ranked opponents. The action goes down on Friday, April 14 and can be streamed on WIwrestle's Rokfin page.
At 132 lbs, #8 Kellen Wolbert and #6 Alan Koehler will meet for the first time in their high school careers. Koehler's Minnesota state title this year came at 126 lbs. The senior will head to Nebraska in the fall but not before competing for a spot on the U20 World Team at 57 kg. Wolbert won a Wisconsin state title in his freshman season with a victory over #9 Ben Bast in the finals. After his matchup with Koehler, he has his sights set on the U17 60 kg spot in Vegas.
The matchup at 160 lbs is between #18 Charlie Millard of AWA and #7 Zach Hanson of Pinnacle. Millard is committed to Minnesota's class of 2024 while Hanson will be at Stanford next year. These two have yet to wrestle one another in high school competition.
Pinnacle's #8 Cole Han-Lindemyer will have two ranked opponents on Friday as he's booked against #13 Ethan Riddle and #14 Noah Mulvaney. Both Riddle and Mulvaney began their seasons at 170 lbs. That's where Riddle won his Wisconsin state title, but Mulvaney moved up to 182 lbs for his. Han-Lindemyer also won his title at 182 lbs. These will be the first meetings between these opponents.
The matchup at 192 lbs is a rematch of perhaps the most entertaining final of this year's Minnesota Christmas Tournament. In that bout, Mirasola racked up three takedowns against Rogotzke, but the ever-dangerous Rogotzke got the last laugh with a fall by way of lat-whip from bottom. Expect another entertaining contest between these two.

#3 Aeoden Sinclair and #7 Joey Novak will meet for the first time on Friday. Novak is headed to Wyoming next year while Sinclair will join the Missouri Tigers in 2024. Sinclair is the favorite, but Novak, who has a win this year over #1 Max McEnelly, could definitely make things interesting.
