Alex Facundo and Patrick Kennedy met in the co-main event at Who's Number One in 2019. Their highly anticipated showdown took place in Carver Hawkeye Arena, Kennedy's current college home. On Friday, they'll meet again in State College, Facundo's new home turf.
This season, Alex Facundo is 11-1 and is coming off a victory over another high school rival, Michigan All-American, Cam Amine. Facundo won that bout in tie-breakers on Friday.
Kennedy sits at 12-2. His lone losses this season came against NCAA champion David Carr and All-American DJ Hamiti. His loss to Hamiti was a one-point decision on Sunday.
Facundo and Kennedy's rematch could be extremely important for Friday's dual meet outcome between #1 Penn State and #2 Iowa in what could be the best dual meet of the entire NCAA season.
