OMAHA, Neb. (January 4, 2023) – It is time to fill up Ralston Arena again! The 2023 AAU Wrestling Winter Nationals are preparing for another year of competition as athletes are hungry to challenge for the Championship Chain.

Location: Ralston Arena - Omaha, Nebraska

January 7-8, competitors and fans will fill up the Ralston Arena. This widely anticipated national championship attracts wrestlers of all ages from all over the country. 2022 brought 909 wrestlers to Omaha, a record for the AAU Winter Nationals. This year will see around 900 competitors from 15 different states take the mat with hopes of starting the new year with some new hardware to add to the collection.

Boys and Girls will be competing with divisions split up by age: Tots (6u), Bantam (7 & 8), Midget (9 & 10), Novice (11 & 12), and School Boy/Gilr 8th Grade and under (13 – 15). Chains for Champions will be awarded to each weight class. Trophies for 2nd and 3rd place in each weight class and medals for the top six places in each weight class will also be earned. Team Awards will also be presented: Class A (18 or More wrestlers), Class B (8-12 wrestlers), and Class C (8-12 wrestlers).

Saturday, January 7 will be the first day of competition with doors opening at 6:15 in the morning and wrestling beginning at 9:00. The Nebraska Boyz finished last year with the most total match points, while the South Central Punishers had the highest winning percentage. We are excited to see what teams show out this year.
