Malcolm Robinson Set To Take On Michael Millage At Night Of Conflict 3
No. 4 Malcolm Robinson from Blair Academy is set to battle No. 20 and Northern Iowa recruit Michael Millage at Night of Conflict 3.
Michael Millage of New Hampton, Iowa, is returning to the Night of Conflict for the second straight year to take on a highly ranked wrestler from one of the nation's top high school programs.
Ranked No. 4 at 138 pounds and committed to Rutgers, Malcolm Robinson of New Jersey's Blair Academy marks the second top-five opponent Millage will face at the event, which returns to Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa, on Oct. 13. A year ago, Millage bumped up a weight and put on a show with Illinois prep Jason Renteria in a match that featured 30 total points, which Renteria ultimately won 19-11.
Millage has climbed into the rankings at No. 20 with a strong regular season as a junior, winning the Iowa 2A state title at 126 pounds over Solon's Drew West. From there, Millage packed on some weight and moved up to 138 pounds, where he earned his first Fargo All-American finish after taking sixth in freestyle. Millage recently committed to Northern Iowa and is projected as a 141-pounder for the Panthers.
Millage takes out Purdue commit Parker Filius:
Aside from the fact that Robinson competes for one of the nation's most prestigious private schools, he has also put in top finishes at some of the toughest folkstyle tournaments in the country. This past season, he took third overall at the Walsh Ironman and won the Beast of the East.
The Night of Conflict does utilize a push-out rule in addition to the regular high school rules, but Robinson isn't lacking in freestyle credentials, placing third at the Cadet Freestyle National tournament a year ago.
Robinson takes out Cornell recruit Gerard Angelo:
138: No. 4 Malcolm Robinson (NJ) vs. No. 20 Michael Millage (IA)
138: No. 19 Luke Kemerer (PA) vs. Cade DeVos (IA)
195: No. 3 Brandon Whitman (MI) vs. No. 4 Joel Shapiro (IA)
