Sam Latona, Gavin Hoffman, and Josh Saunders all just completed flawless title runs at NHSCA Nationals and are now setting their sights on becoming their respective divisions' one true champion at FloNationals this weekend in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
Latona, a double Fargo finalist and Greco champ, will look to take home the 106-pound belt at IUP's Kovalchick Complex on Friday, March 31, to Saturday, April 1, after dominating the field at NHSCA Nationals this past weekend. The Alabama native picked up three pins and three major decisions on his way to the finals before capturing the title with a hard-fought 7-5 sudden-victory win over Jacob Moran.
Hoffman, a highly sought-after recruit from Pennsylvania, is returning to this year's tournament after placing third in 2016. The Fargo and Powerade runner-up just won the 195-pound NHSCA title last week and is rolling into FloNats with a full head of steam. Hoffman finished off his junior season by collecting his second straight state title with an 8-4 win over Anthony Walter, who is also registered for the tournament.
And lastly there is Saunders, the Missouri freshman state champ, who is also a returning FloNats All-American. Saunders will be in the mix at 120 this weekend.
These three dudes are must-watches, so make sure you don't miss them in action this weekend at FloNationals.
