FloWrestler Of The Week: Ian Timmins, NV
Ian Timmins' ability to fight through the devastating injury and come from behind to claim his fourth Nevada state title makes him our FloWrestler of the Week presented by Cliff Keen.
Winning a fourth high school state title is a great accomplishment for any wrestler. But to do it on one leg -- incredible.
After trailing 2-0 to Cimarron's Daniel Rodriguez in the Nevada high school state finals on Saturday, Wooster senior Ian Timmins, who tore his ACL two weeks ago, scored the match-tying takedown in the second period and then went on to collect the winning takedown in overtime to capture his fourth state championship. Timmins became the 11th wrestler in his Nevada history to claim four titles.
The Navy recruit will have surgery in about two weeks to repair his ACL. His ability to fight through the devastating injury and come from behind to claim his fourth Nevada state title makes him our FloWrestler of the Week presented by Cliff Keen.
Timmins also had a clutch win earlier this year at Doc B in the semifinals. Check out that match below:
