Medal Matches:

Syzdykova (KAZ) vs Ahmed (EGY) for bronze. Ahmed takes the lead 1-0 on a stepout, BUT Syzdykova goes headlock for a big four to end the period! Now a 5-4 lead for Syzdykova. 1:20 to go. Go behind for Syzdykova makes it 7-4. That's the final. A bronze for Kazakhstan.

Now Fransson of Sweden will take on Yeats of Canada. Scoreless 30 seconds in. Now 90 seconds in and Yeats is going on the shot clock. 1-0 Fransson now with a minute to go in the 1st. It ends 1-0. 2nd period underway. Fransson now with a 2-1 lead with 50 to go. That's the final, a 2-1 win seals bronze for Fransson.

Gold Medal match! Dosho of Japan takes on Vorobieva of Russia. 2 on 1 for Vorobieva, she prefers to work out of this tie. They're broken free with 38 to go. Dosho gets put on the shot clock. 15 to go. Time expires, 1-0 Vorobieva. She brings Dosho to the edge with her 2 on 1 but can't get the step out. 2:25 into the 1st. 1st comes to an end. 1-0 Vorobieva. 2nd now underway. 45 in, nothing going on. Dosho goes on the clock again. 17 to go on the clock. Shot clock expires and now it's 2-0 Vorobieva with 90 to go. Left side high crotch by Dosho, can't finish. 2 on 1 for Vorobieva. 1 minute to go. Takedown by Dosho with 30 to go!!! 2-2 Dosho leads!  She does it!! JAPAN SWEEPS! 3 for 3!!! Dosho does it!

Going for history here, Kaori Icho trying to become the first wrestler, male or female, to win four Olympic golds. Icho is in red against Valeria Koblova Zholobova of Russia. The president of the IOC is in the arena to see the legend. Koblova gets warned for passive 43 seconds in. Koblova goes on the shot clock at the 1:23 mark. AMAZING! Koblova finishes a single leg despite a tremendous whizzer from Icho and leads 2-1 heading into the break. Another fierce double leg from Koblova, but it gets called up for a stalemate after Icho fights her off in a crackback. Koblova still leads on criteria, but it's now 2-2 after giving up a point for repeatedly pulling on Icho's hair. AND SHE DID IT! Kaori Icho is the first female athlete in any individual sport to win a gold medal in four different Olympic Games. What a finish, she was in the same position a minute earlier and went from a crotch lock to a far ankle lock. She fought Koblova and finished behind for two with five seconds remaining. We just witnessed one of the greatest female wrestlers ever make history.

The other bronze medal will be contested between Aisuluu Tynybekova (KGZ) in blue and Sakshi Malik (IND) in red. Neither India nor Kyrgyzstan has ever won a medal in women's wrestling at the Olympics. Malik on the clock and is unable to score, she does not attempt any attacks. Sweet drag to a sweep single for Tynybekova, and then she does it again! Kyrgyzstan leads 5-0 heading into the break. Long scramble off a Tynybekova shot ends in no points. Malik gets her first takedown of the match and turns Tynybekova! We have a match here with 80 seconds to go. Malik almost gave up on a shot but she comes back up and gets the stepout! What a comeback for Malik! She gets a takedown, almost a full cradle, with two seconds remaining.

Amri of Tunisia vs Ratkevich of Azerbaijan for the first 58kg bronze medal. Amri goes on the shot clock at the 1:24 mark of the first period. Ratkevich leads 1-0 at the break on the shot clock point. Ratkevich hits a blast double to take a 3-0 lead on the 12th ranked Amri. They put No. 9 Ratkevich on the clock, and Amri picks up her first point of the match. Stepout for Amri pulls her within one. What a shot! Amri lifts up the Azeri for four points and gives Tunisia a bronze medal! She knocks off Ratkevich who was a bronze medalist in London.

This it it folks! Rematch of last year's world finals, won 2-2 on criteria by Eri Tosaka of Japan on a last second takedown. Mariya Stadnik was the Olympic silver medalist in 2012. And that was an interesting first passive call against Stadnik. Stadnik scores the first point of the match on a stepout. And they stop it as Stadnik hits a sweet sweep single to hit Tosaka for passive. The first period ends 1-0 in favor of Stadnik. Tosaka goes on the clock at 3:30 of the second. Just like last year, Tosaka takes a 2-0 lead late in the second period. Tosaka is on the board after Standik can't score while on the shot clock. WOW!! Two years in a row Tosaka fakes right, fakes right, and swings left to finish in the dying seconds. Tosaka sweeps the quad and wins her first Olympic gold.

Up next is Patricia Bermudez of Argentina and Elitsa Yankova of Bulgaria. Bermudez receives the first passive of the match at the one minute mark. Yankova picks up the first point of the match after Bermudez is unable to score when put on the shot clock. We head into the break with Yankova leading 5-0 after converting on a single leg, and then Bermudez was hit for a caution and two. Anothe takedown for Yankova and she leads 7-2 with two minutes left. Bermudez hits a big throw for four. The final score is 7-6 and eighth ranked Elitsa Yankova is your other bronze medalist at 48kg.

First up is Eshimova against Yanan at 48kg for bronze. Eshimova from Kazakhstan is your wrestler in red and ranked fourth in the world. Sun Yana from China is your wrestler in blue and ranked second in the world. Yanan in deep on a shot and throws Eshimova for four! And that'll do it, wow what incredible gut wrenches from Sun Yanan of China, your Olympic bronze medalist.

Repechage: Haley will be up second on Mat B against Eshimova. Fall by Purvdorj, which means Haley is up! Underway now early. No score as Haley gets to her underhook. Split up with 40 to go. No attacks as of yet. Haley warned for passivity. Haley going on the clock, wow. Caution and 1 for Eshimova. Augello has really been dictating, 20 to go. Time runs out in the 1st. 2nd period now underway. Eshimova gets a throw by for 2. 3-0 lead now. GREAT DOUBLE by Haley makes it 3-2. 90 to go. Ref keeps stopping the match, not sure why there. 50 to go. Shot by Haley but she's in a front headlock. 16 to go. Haley loses 3-2. Stunned Eshinova never went on the clock. Haley's day is done.

The United States is back in action again today with Haley Augello taking the mat at 48kg. We'll also have 58kg where we'll see 3 time Olympic Champ Icho of Japan and 69kg as well.

Prelims: Getting started at 8 AM CT. World Champ Tosaka is in the hole on mat a. Mongolian Purevdorj, who beat Icho this year, is in the hole on mat b. World finalist Stadnik on deck mat c.

Haley in the hole mat a! Before that, World Champ Tosaka is up first on that match. Left side high crotch to a double for Tosaka, big lift and it's 2-0! 1:40 into the first. Eshimova nearly scores at the end of the first but can't do it. Back underway in the 2nd and it's a great single for Tosaka and she finishes for 2 more! 4-0 Tosaka. 2 on 1 for Eshimova and she can't use it. 30 to go. Another single ices it for Tosaka 6-0.

Haley is up! Hand shake and we're underway! Immediate single for Haley but she can't finish. Scoreless 40 seconds in. 2 on 1 for Haley, and Blaszka is warned for passivity. Blaszka going on the shot clock. Caution and 1 and Haley now leads. Single and step out for 2-0 lead. 1st period ends. 2nd now underway. Single by Haley and she finishes out of bounds for 2! Challenge by Netherlands. Overturned, just a step out and it's 3-0. Body lock, and there's two! 5-0 lead for Haley against World Bronze Blaszka! 30 to go. 2 more for Haley and that ices it! 7-0 final!

Icho up on mat B. Still no score 90 seconds in. Now 1-0 Icho after shot clock point. Single by Icho finish on edge 3-0 after 1. Now another 2 for Icho and she leads by 5. Stadnik on deck mat a. Focken vs Zhou on deck mat c. 9-0 Icho now 2 more for exposure and it's an 11-0 tech. Sun of China wins at 48. Stadnyk now up on A. Great attack by Stadnik for 2 and two guts, now 3 and the match is 10-0! Outstanding.

Focken up 11-3 on Zhou now. And that's the final.

Haley Augello vs Tosaka in the hole mat a!! Haley is up against 3x World Champ Tosaka. Looks like they'll take a quick break here. Start you're "HA-LEY HA-LEY HA-LEY" chants at home!

OK, now it's time! Low fake from Haley, doesn't pull the trigger. Front headlock by Haley and it's broken free. Haley warned for passivity. Collar ties for both, now Tosaka warned. Haley put on the clock. Caution and 1, Tosaka leads. Shot to a 2 on 1 and they break free. 1st period over. Pieface from Haley after 1st ends! 2nd period now, 2 on 1 for Haley and now Tosaka gets put on the clock! 2 and 2 from bottom makes it 5-2 then a lace from Tosaka and it's 7-2. Now 2 and 2 and it's 11-2. That's the final. Haley will need Tosaka to win her next match to pull her through.

Stadnick up 4-0 early. A few more and it's 10-0. She looks unbelievable.

Icho up again on Mat A, she'll be followed by Tosaka. Scoreless a minute in. Icho going on the shot clock. She gives it up. 1-0 lead for Turkey, wow. At the last second Icho shoots a double and finishes for a 2-1 lead after 1. Turkey on the shot clock in the 2nd. Now 3-1 Icho. That's the final.

Petra Olli goes down to Tynybekova! Fairly surprising. Now World Champion Vorobieva takes the mat against Ochirbat. Ochirbat leading the champion 2-1 in the 2nd! Ochirbat has a 2 though, so this point wouldn't do much. 2-2 now. 20 to go and it's a far leg dump and she Vorobieva gets the fall! Stunning.

Focken down 9-1 and Fransson is the winner! What a showing. Stadnik up 2-0 now.

Tosaka vs Sun! We need Tosaka to win again to pull Haley back in. LEGGOOOO TOSAKA!!! Scoreless 46 in. Sun up 2-0, underhook throw by. 2:47 to go. Front headlock go behind for Tosaka! 2 laces and now it's 6-2 and another one makes it 8-2! 8-3 final and HALEY WILL WRESTLE IN REPECHAGE! Shot at Bronze! Tosaka will take on Stadnik for Gold.

Icho leading AZE 2-0. Now 4-0 off an easy go behind. Trap arm makes it 6-0 and 8-0 and then 10-0! She'll take on Koblova of Russia in the finals

Vorobieva gets the pin in the semi's. Frannson leading in the first period. Now a TD for Dosho and 5 more and it's a 7-2 win for Dosho.
