Japan Wins Title, USA Finishes In Second
After the final day of competition in women's freestyle, Japan finished in first place with 195 total points once again showing why they are the standard in Women's Wrestling. In total Japan secured 8 medals - 6 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. That remarkable performance was enough to defeat second-place USA by 60 total points.
Despite trailing Japan, Team USA has had an incredible tournament with 7 total medals - 1 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze. Team USA scored 135 points and finished 55 points ahead of third place Mongolia. See a full breakdown of Team USA's performance at the bottom of this article.

These athletes cannot earn team points, however, it's still interesting to keep track of and helps in organizing points for every weight. Team points are calculated according to UWW’s top 10 placement points for world championship team scoring: 25, 20, 15, 15, 10, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2.
