Michael Beard finished 2-1 at the National Collegiate Duals with wins over #8 Issac Trumble and #13 Gavin Hoffman. Despite taking a loss to #7 Bernie Truax at the Collegiate Duals, Trumble also defeated Truax by fall so Beard maintained his #5 ranking in the country as he majored Trumble. 197 pounds is unquestionably the wildest weight class this year, and the results between Beard, Truax, and Trumble are only a small sample size of that craziness. Lou Deprez made the finals of the Southern Scuffle with a win over #11 Jaxon Smith before suffering an injury and finishing as the runner-up. Luke Stout finished fifth at the Midlands with a win over Michael Battista.
