North Carolina’s Zach Sherman encountered a brutal schedule last season and fell short of a return trip to the NCAA podium after earning All-America honors in 2021 at 141. He’s back for his senior campaign. Although Jarod Verkleeren failed to qualify for the national tournament out of a very deep ACC field last season, he still racked up some ranked wins and starts the season ranked second in this weight class. Brock McMillen comes out of redshirt for Pitt while Caleb Henson is expected to get the nod as a true freshman for Virginia Tech. Expect both of them to make some noise right out of the gate.
