2022-23 NCAA DI Rankings
Quincy Monday
Peyton Robb moves up to the #2 spot after winning the CKLV by defeating Kendall Coleman in the finals. Despite the loss to Robb, Coleman still moves up to the #3 because of his win over Will Lewan in the semis.
Kaden Gfeller defeated Brayton Lee, 2-0 in Oklahoma State's dual against Minnesota. Gfeller doesn't rise too high in the rankings because of a recent loss to Josh Humphreys.
It's also worth mentioning Ed Scott remaining at #12 after taking 3rd at CKLV. Scott was ranked #7 three weeks ago but then lost to HM Corbyn Munson. Because of that loss, Scott dropped a few spots. At the CKLV, Scott lost to Peyton Robb but had wins over Cesar Alvan, Cael Swensen, Selwyn Porter, Cael Swensen, and Trevor Chumbley. In his third-place match, while leading Will Lewan 10-0, Lewan injury defaulted out due to what looked like a knee injury.
We don't count injury defaults for rankings purposes. Most of the time these injury defaults don't happen in a match like the Scott-Lewan bout so this one is a little more "glaring". Scott will have his chance to rise in the rankings with potential matches against #8 Josh Humphreys, #5 Bryce Andonian, and #7 Austin O'Connor all on his schedule in the coming weeks and months.
