Last year this weight had eight returning state champions with only three of them winning another title. This year’s class is headed by 16U Fargo Freestyle runner-up Christopher Coates, who is currently ranked #11 on the 2024 Big Board. After his strong Super 32 showing, David Cross comes in at #2. He lost at state last year to Coates in a hard-fought 2-0 match. Other state champions include Pleasant Hill's Sam Ewing, who as junior will try to garner his third Class 2 title. 2020 Class 3 Champ Christian Finley of Willard is also at this weight.
