Nebraska-Kearney came close to ending St. Cloud State’s Division II reign in March before the Huskies ripped the title trophy away on the tournament’s final match when heavyweight Kameron Teacher pushed Steve Costanzo’s squad over the top. 

The two programs are back at the top again to start this season. Kearney kicks off the season ranked #1, followed by St. Cloud State, Lindenwood, Central Oklahoma and West Liberty. 

West Liberty’s Cole Laya (125) and Tyler Warner (133), St. Cloud State’s Joey Bianchini (141), Fairmont State’s Lukas Martin (149), Findlay’s James Wimer (157), Gannon’s Alex Farenchak (165), Lindenwood’s Abner Romero (174), Central Oklahoma’s Heath Gray (184) and Dalton Abney (197) and Teacher (285) begin the season ranked #1 at their respective weight classes.
