2021-22 NCAA DI Rankings

Jay Mellow Aiello

The top cruiserweights continue to keep things interesting, as Aiello beat Woodley and Pentz beat Buchanan. Woodley has had a very strong season, with wins over Brucki, Norfleet, and Caffet, so he doesn't drop. Aiello, however, moves into the top 10, with a low match count keeping him from climbing higher over competitors that have wrestled a tougher schedule so far.

It should be noted that Aiello missed much of the first semester due to winning a U23 World Bronze medal in Serbia in late October, which is extremely commendable.

Buchanan has also had an excellent season so far, including a win over Schultz (who, coincidentally, was pinned by Pentz in the 2021 NCAA tournament), so he doesn't drop, whereas Pentz, who lose to Jaron Smith and Garrett Joles at the Southern Scuffle, climbs only as high as #22.

Elsewhere, Cam Caffey defeated Tommy Penola to move up a few rungs. Penola's earlier win over Woodley keeps him where he is, although most of his slack has now been used up.
