2021-22 NCAA DI Rankings

Mad Max Murin

Outside of the top few spots, this weight class has been all over the map. Last week's drama included Max Murin beating Yayha Thomas and Mike Van Brill defeating Beau Bartlett.

Practically everyone has reasons to argue for a higher ranking, and compromises were a necessity.

Andonian, Millner, and Heil had the least amount of blemishes on this season's record, so they stay above Gomez, Parco, Murin, and Thomas. One could argue that they have not wrestled as tough a schedule, and as such, they will be quick to drop if they suffer any losses for the remainder of the season.

Gomez's loss to Heil and Parco's loss to Barlett dropped them below Heil, who climbed due to Thomas' loss to Murin, and Murin's earlier loss to Bryant. Lack of quality wins keep Abas and Finesilver down, and lack of matches of any kind also negatively affects Abas' ranking.

Finally, Demas' wrestled at 149 at the Virginia Duals, so that's where we're ranking him for now. His loss to Verkleeren, who has several losses this season, keeps both Demas and Verkleeren in the honorable mentions.
