Jordan Burroughs proved he will have no problems moving up when he defeated Zahid Valencia at this weight and pushed David Taylor all the way up at 86 kg. On the contrary, Isaiah Martinez looked a little shaky at Senior Nationals, but he was still able to get the Ws and I credit that more to injury and lack of ability for proper training leading up to the event. He will be better next time we see him. His win over Burroughs at Final X 2019 lifts him above Alex Dieringer who has also been out with injury but lost to Zahid at the 2020 Pellicone. Carter Starocci follows Ringer with his wins over Chance Marsteller and Devin Skatzka at NLWC events this past year.

Although Taylor Lujan technically won Senior Nats, he comes in at #7 behind Skatzka since Skatzka pinned him at the Last Chance Qualifier. Also at Senior Nats, Michael O’Malley advanced past teammate McFadden, but it was by injury default and McFadden has enough good wins to keep him above O’Malley. O’Malley did legitimately beat Travis Wittlake on the backside, however.
