2020-21 NCAA Division III Rankings

NCAA DIII 197-Pound Rankings

Lance Benick was the champ in 2019 but wrestled an abbreviated season last year. Benick seemed to be fighting some injuries last year. Hopefully he has had time to recover and is ready to make another run at an individual title for the Auggies. Isaac Lahr comes in at #2 and is the same regional as Benick — could we potentially see an NCAA finals preview in the Upper Midwest Regional?

Kobe Woods has shown flashes of dominance for Wartburg but has yet to qualify for the NCAA Championships. I believe Woods is ready to break through this season and help the Knights compete for a team title in 2021. Anthony Wuest is another wrestler who made waves in his first season in DIII but just missed out on qualifying for the NCAA tournament. A late-season injury seemed to affect Wuest at Regionals; I expect him to be an All-American contender at this weight.
