2020-21 Missouri High School Rankings

2020-21 Missouri High School Rankings: 285

COVID-19 has made it difficult to gauge the growth of the wrestlers, and the weights will more than likely change. Even if someone has wrestled in the summer, he will most likely be at a different weight in the future. Also, Missouri doesn’t release team classifications until the beginning of the season, so classes for teams and wrestlers could change. One big change is Class 1 powerhouse Whitfield will probably be moving up to Class 3 after winning the last four Class 1 titles and six of the last eight. All rankings are based on weights from last year.

DeSmet has bookends having the number #1 wrestlers at 106 and now at 285. Jacobi Jackson won his first state title last year after he avenged his 2019 state finals loss to Maryville recruit Ryan Skillington of Francis Howell. Jackson and his father (Former NC State AA and Missouri Baptist head coach Brian Jackson) became the first African American father/son combination to win Missouri state titles. Jackson is also a division one prospect for football as well. He was a big part of DeSmet’s state championship football team. He is possibly looking to do both sports at the next level.

Others include Class 2 returning state champion Harrison Merriman of Monett and 16U Greco AA Michael Fenz of Rockwood Summit.
