Gilcher is ranked No. 11 in the nation at 132 pounds and No. 18 on the Class of 2023 Big Board. He cemented his national reputation with wins over nationally-ranked state champions Tyler Kasak (Pennsylvania, No. 6 at 138) and Ryder Block (Iowa, No. 16 at 132) at the Cadet World Trials. Gilcher won his second straight state championship last season, finishing 29-1. He lost only to unbeaten, Division 1 140-pound state champion Mason Shrader (Brighton). Gilcher owns a 69-4 high school record.  At the 2020 Grappler Fall Classic, he finished fourth, knocking off two-time Florida state champion Braden Basile.
