2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle

Takuto Otoguro

Ibrahim Ibragimov was the big surprise of Russian nationals winning an incredibly deep 65kg bracket. Ibragimov defeated Gadzhimurad Omarov in the finals, 5-1 along with #8 Abdulaev, #10, and #11 Khadartsev. Omarov jumps up in the rankings after taking out former world champion and Olympic bronze medalist Gadzhimurad Rashidov. The rest of the order falls in line with the results of Russian nationals which you can view at the link below.

Another meaningful result at 65kg came from the ranking series event in Kazakhstan at the beginning of June. There, Uzbekistan's Abbos Rakhmonov defeated Bajrang Punia to make the finals. Then in the gold medal match, Mongolia's Tulga Tumur-Ochir came out on top with a 9-1 victory over Rakhmonov. Rakhmonov fails to move into the rankings because of his lack of an overall resume. For a similar reason, Bajrang holds his spot in the top 20 because of having a strong past resume with proven results.
