2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle

79 Jordan Burroughs

Olympic silver medalist (at 74kg) Magomedkhabib Kadimagomedov won the Ivan Poddubny by defeating 2021 world bronze medalist Radik Valiev in the finals, 8-7. Along with the win over Valiev, Kadimagomedov also defeated #9 Amanula Gadzhimagomedov. Gadzhimagomedov then came back for bronze with a win over formerly ranked #19 Dmitry Kuprin. Kadimagomedov doesn't move above Burroughs for the top spot due to a loss against #7 Savadkoui from the Iranian league last November. Burroughs has a head-to-head win against Savadkoui from the Yasar Dogu in February 2022.

Chance Marsteller moved into the #10 spot after defeating #12 Carter Starocci, #19 David McFadden, and 2 of 3 matches against #11 Vincenzo Joseph. Despite the losses to Marsteller, Joseph moves up in the rankings after once again defeating #13 Alex Dieringer.

Carter Starocci is the new face in the rankings at 79kg after taking third at the world team trials and defeating #13 Alex Dieringer and #20 David McFadden while losing only to #10 Chance Marsteller.

David McFadden holds his spot after only losing to higher-ranked wrestlers. McFadden defeated Imar but lost to Marsteller and Starocci. And while Dieringer failed to place, he holds his spot in the rankings based on past wins over #14 Nika Kentchadze and #15 Magomed Magomaev.
