Rahman Amouzad continues to move up in weight and continues to impress. He won Iran’s national tournament by taking out Olympian Morteza Ghiasi in the finals, 2-1. Also moving up in weight for Iran is their 2021 world silver medalist at 65kg, former #9 Amir Yazdani. He moved up to 70kg and failed to make the finals. For now, Yazdani will remain out of the rankings at both 65 and 70. 

2019 61kg World Champion, Beka Lomtadze, moved up to 65kg and won Georgia’s national tournament. Over the past year, Lomtadze has been back and forth between 61kg and 65kg but will likely stay at the Olympic weight moving forward. 

Also of note, both Alibek Osmanov (KGZ) and Ziraddin Bayramov won their respective national tournaments while world medalist Daulet Niyazbekov announced his retirement.
