2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle

Pound for Pound

The pound for pound is where I believe Sidakov deserves to hold his spot. Sidakov’s overall resumé has proven he is one of the best wrestlers in the world. He has won the past two World Championships by defeating both #4 Jordan Burroughs and #11 Frank Chamizo. His loss to Tsabolov is also only his second loss since January of 2018. Because of that, he only falls one spot to #3, moving J’den Cox up to #2.

The only other changes in the Pound for Pound come with Cherman Valiev and Razambek Zhamalov entering the ranks. Cherman Valiev comes in at #20 based off his win over defending 70kg World Champ, David Baev. Naturally, Zhamalov enters the rankings by taking home gold in the 74kg bracket with 4 world champs. Zhamalov had 2 wins over Valiev in 2019-clearly placing him ahead in the pound for pound rankings.
