97 Abdulrashid Sadulaev

Abdulrashid Sadulaev won his 5th world title and earned his 3rd consecutive win over Kyle Snyder. Along with the win over Snyder, Sadulaev’s other notable wins were over #7 Mahamed Zakariiev and #18 Aleksandr Hushtyn. Snyder narrowly defeated #6 Mojtaba Goleij and also had wins over former world medalist Magomedgadji Nurov and #20 Batzul Ulziisaikhan.

#7 Mahamed Zakariiev was the breakout performer at 97kg in Olso. Zakariiev defeated #8 Suleyman Karadeniz and #18 Aleksandr Hushtyn on his way to winning a world bronze. Mojtaba Goleij won the other bronze medalist and defeated #10 Elizbar Odikadze and #20 Batzul Ulziisakhan.
