2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle

125 Taha Akgul

Anil Kilicsallayan enters the rankings at 125kg after defeating 2021 Russian Nationals runner-up, Atsamaz Tebloev in the finals of the U23 European Championships. Kilicsallayan is a younger heavyweight for Turkey and is coming off a bronze medal performance at the Dan Kolov tournament in April where he lost only to #15 Amin Taheri.

#9 Zelimkhan Khizriev was also in action and won The Yarygin. His closest match was his 8-7 finals win over his brother, Khamzat Khizriev. Aside from that match, Zelimkhan was unchallenged on his way to gold. Despite making the finals, Khamzat has limited results on the senior level and does not yet have a ranked win.

Gable Steveson won gold at the Pan-Am Championships with 5, 10-0 tech falls. Steveson continues to slowly climb the rankings at 125kg but his lack of competition against the top 10 in the keeps him from climbing higher than #11...for now.
