Julien Maldonado takes over the top spot here after the other guys have since moved up to new weights. I slot in Waynesburg freshman Mac Church into the second slot after his eighth-place showing at Super 32 just a few weeks ago. He is as tough as they come, and I can definitely see him making a run for the top spot sooner rather than later. Van Dee from Prep jumps ahead of Allison after beating him for the hammer at The Surge. This is typically one of the strong weights to include freshmen and this one does not disappoint. Tyler Kasak, now at Becahi, is right behind Church and will also make a run this season. Two freshmen ranked in the top three at this weight is a surprise but not if you have seen these guys scrap. Freshmen nowadays are oftentimes ready to go when they get to the big show and these two guys are no exception.

I hope you enjoy reading and critiquing the 2019-20 first official rankings for PA. This is the post-preseason, pre-regular season rankings. With results compiled from most of the offseason and preseason tournaments, we were able to have a more accurate and up to date ranking to reflect the upcoming season. With just under a month until the opening weekend of competition, excitement is mounting across the state.
