2019-20 Pennsylvania High School Rankings - AA

PIAA: AA 120-Pounds

This weight is absolutely loaded with returning state medalists and qualifiers. Jackson Arrington looks to defend his gold from a year ago. Arrington avenged his Southwest Regional final loss to Elizabeth Forward’s Ryan Michaels in the finals of the Surge, while Levi Haines of Biglerville competed at 120 pounds in the Journeymen. I look for both of these guys to give Arrington fits for the #1 spot. Throw in returning PIAA fifth-place finishers Kai Burkett of Chestnut Ridge (106lbs) and Benton’s Gable Strickland (113), and tis a very deep weight and will be fun to watch it unfold, should all these guys remain here.

I hope you enjoy reading and critiquing the 2019-20 first official rankings for PA. This is the post-preseason, pre-regular season rankings. With results compiled from most of the offseason and preseason tournaments, we were able to have a more accurate and up to date ranking to reflect the upcoming season. With just under a month until the opening weekend of competition, excitement is mounting across the state. Once again, enjoy and please let me know if there are any questions/comments and I’ll be happy to interact with feedback/changes.
